Your Past is not Your Future.

That is so true.

Don't let your past determine what you do next.

Most of the time, our past hinders us from moving forward.

What is the point of holding on to something that is in the past? You can't score this time 'round doesn't mean you can't score the next time. What matters most is that you don't give up trying and believe in yourself. I think.

Went to Wild Wild Wet. Its too kido. Catered more for a family of four with young children. Its reallllllllllly not thrilling at all. I was expecting an adrenaline pumping experience. Its good to meet tourists though. Its an attraction for them. Haha.

Well, other than the initial fear of heights from the Skyrider[H] and short-lived adrenaline rush from Slide Up [G]. Other rides are too safe = Boring. /Yawns

The tsunami is _______________. [Argh. My vocab is limited.]
The waves are not gigantic. Just enough to cause movement in position.

I've to say there are many life guards. Mostly Malays. [Not that I've anything against them. Just a remark.]

Oh yeah. There is no hot water in the showers.

Basically, I think no Singaporean in the right mind would pay SGD13.80 to play at Wild Wild Wet. At least not the teenagers[like me] who are adrenaline-junkies. Haha.

'Stay interested in the world, take on a challenge': MM Lee

A friend emailed me this speech. Went to google to check its authenticity. I mean, we are talking about MM Lee. Not just any celebs here.

Read through the whole thing. Madness. First time I actually cared to read the whole article.

For those who'd want to read his speech, you can go to http://www.asiaone.com/Health/News/Story/A1Story20080114-44987.html.

Anyway, I have to agree with 2 things that MM Lee said.

".. I think the most important single lesson I learnt in life was that if you isolate yourself, you're done for. The human being is a social animal - he needs stimuli, he needs to meet people, to catch up with the world."

and

"If you're not interested in the world and the world is not interested in you, the biggest punishment a man can receive is total isolation in a dungeon, black and complete withdrawal of all stimuli, that's real torture."

Finally, his advice to every person in Singapore and elsewhere: Keep yourself interested, have a challenge.

They shut off their emotions. They subconsciously told themselves that the only way to be protected from heartbreak was to deny they had a heart and revert to the same animalistic, non-committal physical passion they had seen in the guys they dated.

COOL STUFF. Loba provided the link. thankyou Loba!(:

When was the last time the Grown-Ups had fun? Pure Fun?! :p

Breasts Power.

Yes it sounds R-I-D-I-C-U-L-A-S. I doubt its useful in my country where most girls don't have super big assets >.<

Loba provided the link -> http://gizmodo.com/5019047/the-breast-motion-power-generator-is-a-genius-idea.

"Adrienne So over at Slate has used her natural gifts to come up with the most genius idea yet: an energy-generating bra.

Instead of just holding her boobs in place and dispelling that excess kinetic energy into, I don't know, heat, why not use it to power a gadget?

According to a breast specialist, a D-cup in a lousy bra moves up to 35-inches up and down during exercise. Professor Wang of Georgia Tech is working on just this problem, using nanowires inside fabric to convert that visual spectacle into something useful.

But is it enough to power an average iPod? This Wang says yes."

How do Girls survive in this Sex-Crazy-World?

Sex sells. We all know that. For hollywood.

Most Hollywood movies show that sex is common in relationships. At least in the Western context.

Asian families are different. We are conservative people and are NOT ALLOWED TO TALK ABOUT IT. But we are living in different times. We are going global. Actually, we are Global. We have strong influences from the West and other parts of the world.
The internet. The Media.

We may not talk about it. But do we know what is really going on these days?

I was watching cable the other day. Prime time. There were many trailers of Taiwanese dramas with making-out scenes on a queen-sized BED. SERIOUSLY. Can you imagine if your cousin/sibling of 10-years-old might be watching this and thinks that it is normal?

How are we[girls] to stay PURE?

Chastity.

If girls don't value chastity and sleep around, they are labelled as SLUTS.

For guys its a different story. They are called PLAYERS.
I don't know why but I feel that there's this unspoken acceptance for Guys to be sex-crazy and girls are viewed as sex objects.

Its so scary.

Colour Blind.

Went out with a bunch of council friends and one of them commented that her teacher said females will not be colour blind, only applied to males.

I went to wikipedia and found out that men are more prone to be colour blind.

According to Wikipedia:

About two percent of females and eight percent of males are color blind (Sewell, 1983).

The reason males are at a greater risk of inheriting an X linked mutation is because males only have one X chromosome (XY), and females have two (XX).

In color blindness caused by mutations on the X chromosome there is a 50% chance of male offspring being affected and a 50% chance of female offspring being carriers. Nature usually deals with mutated genes by expressing the healthy copy in offspring. Males only receive one copy and are therefore more vulnerable to mutations on the X chromosome being passed to them by their mothers. If the X chromosome passed to a male carries a color blindness causing mutation then the male will be color blind because there is no chance of another X chromosome silencing the mutation. If one of the X chromosomes of a female carries the gene for color blindness, generally the other will not, so there is a dominant gene to take the place of the recessive one.

If you want more information, check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_blindness

WHEN GOD WRITES YOUR LOVE STORY

by Eric & Leslie Ludy

A friend lent me this book. A good read.
Recommended to people who are looking for love/relationships.
There is one very strong truth I learnt while reading this book.

That is, we [aka the younger generation] are used to getting everything we want INSTANT and we don't want/like to WAIT. The same when it comes to searching for love and partners. We want instant romance [which usually don't last].

/sigh

I believe that good things come for those who wait.
What do you think?

Peter.

means rock according to New International Version.
But is it literal or ...?

©Loba™ says: there's 2 ways of reading the bible
©Loba™ says: Hermeneutics & Exegesis
©Loba™ says: the 1st is the application
©Loba™ says: the 2nd is the literal meaning

Loba referred me to http://greatcommission.com/Matthew161720.html
A lot of info there.

Anyway, I always preferred King James Version [KJV].

In Matthew 16:17-20 KJV,

And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.

According to my study bible,

The rock on which Jesus would build his church has been identified as:

1) Jesus himself (His work of salvation by dying for us on the cross)

2) Peter (the first great leader in the church at Jerusalem)

3) the confession of faith that Peter gave and that all subsequent true believers would give in. It seems most likely that the rock refers to Peter as the leader of the church (for his function, not necessarily his character)

Woah.

I'm kinda surprised that some people really care so much for the Lord. So much so to the extent that they decide who I am and the punishments for me.

[fake]skxsephiroth: but fact is if u say one thing u should carry it out.christians like you disgrace your religion. quit being such an immature person.

What you mean by that? What have I said and not carry out?
I'd be grateful if you could be more specific?

I wonder who is the immature one. Hmmm....

Time.

How long is long? [Sean please don't think dirty.]

Anyway, had a interesting chat with one of my uni friends.

He told me about Einstein's theory about Time is Relative.

So if I say "took me so long to finally realise how meaningless something is."

Long could mean 2 weeks?

2 days?

2 years?

2 decades?

Well, it really depends on how you define the time period when you say its a long time.

God is good.

I heard my neighbours quarreling above me.

The guy was[perhaps still is] upset that the girl cheated on him.

He said something about calling her and she hung up on him.

She was sobbing.

He was shouting angrily.

He tried to make her confess her disloyalty.

She refuses.

/sound of her running around the house, him chasing and shouting.

The cycle continued for about 10 or 15 minutes.

Then silence. I panicked.
Praying to God, hoping that both parties didn't do foolish things!
Was on MSN, told 2 others to pray with me.

Then I heard,

"HOW COULD YOU BETRAY ME YOU F****** B****!"

He sounded really hurt.

You could hear him crying out loud.

But he seems to be more calm.

She was sobbing.

5 minutes later, there was only quietness.

Thank you God for always being faithful!

Love for Enemies

"But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you.

"If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' lend to 'sinners,' expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

Code Geass and Nodame Cantabile.

Anime Anime! Addicted!!

>.<

Hmm.......

When there are so many things going on, its difficult to focus.

I've decided to focus on two most important rules that Christ taught.

1. "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind."

2. "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself"

-taken from Matthew 22:37-39 Kings James Version.

Garlic.

It works!

My salsa mate told me that eating fresh, raw garlic can help to kill bacteria in my throat. [I complained to her about my sore throat while eating Nasi Lemak at Holland Village with her. And I *erm* added chilli. Haha.] I thought about it. Cooked garlic tastes nice and smells good. But raw ones? I've never tried.

When I reached home, I know the sore-ness has upped its level.
I contemplated with the idea of eating raw garlic.
After showering, I decided to do it.
I went to get a few garlics, flaten with chopping knife.
Got rid of the skin and put one in my mouth.

YES I KNOW I AM CRAZY.

I was chewing, seems ok. I like the garlic smell. It makes me hungry.
But my sis hates garlic. Period.

I was chewing and chewing...
The garlic was so hot, I choked and teared.
It was a very painful experience. No pain no gain, right?
I went to chew on another one before I went to bed.
Bloated with the water I drank in attempt to make myself feel better.

This morning, my sore throat felt better.
I think the garlic worked.
Unless, it was psychological... But I doubt so.

Prayer.

Nothing distinguishes the children of God so evidently as prayer.
But even so, every Christian has to cultivate continual prayer.

It may become habitual, but it is so much more than a habit.
It is an expression of our relationship with God,

the yearning we have for the divine communion.

"Be joyful always; pray continually;
give thanks in all circumstances,
for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
